About Permanent Make up Procedures
What kind of ink do I use? PREMIER
Premier uses safe coloring pigments approved by the European Regulatory Agencies. These have been gamma irradiated which eliminates the possibility of germ contamination. They are inert in nature and don’t interfere with the body’s chemistry. Some permanent makeup artists use other pigments containing iron oxide, which fade quickly and can cause skin irritation when undergoing a MRI exam. Premier pigments stay true to color, fading gradually to a lighter shade over time.
What is permanent make up?
It is the micro-implantation of coloring pigments into the skin for aesthetic purposes; to enhance, contour and outline facial features. It is also a valuable procedure for camouflaging scars, burns, skin pigmentation variances caused by vitiligo, correcting some facial irregularities, or to further enhance facial rejuvenation and post-operative treatments.
Is it safe?
At Soul Escape the procedures are only performed under sterile conditions. Only disposable needles are used. There are no long-term side effects; short-term effects may include some redness, swelling, and tenderness. There are no known allergic reactions to pigments, however, allergy tests will be performed on clients before treatment by injecting a small amount of pigment into the skin.
Is it painful?
Medications may affect numbing.
We numb area for 30 minutes prior to the procedure.Topical anesthetics are continually applied which significantly reduces pain. Typically, patients will report little or no discomfort during or after a procedure has been performed.
How long does it take to have it done?
The average time required for a procedure is about 2 hours.
What can I expect after the procedure?
Colour appears twice as dark right after procedure and during healing. Scabbing, skin peeling and lightening of the applied color is normal. Swelling, redness or bruising can be expected for 24 hours following the procedure. Cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The area must be kept clean and sealed with vasoline to allow healing. No makeup should be applied for at least 7 days. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning, swimming or vigorous exercise should be avoided for a few days. Surface healing times is between 4 to 7 days.
Follow up procedure
We offer free follow-up for 12 months following the procedure. I reccomend waiting a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks after the first treatment before coming in for the second follow up procedure. If any additional adjustments are desired, these will be made during your follow- up appointment. Colour will last longer when follow up procedure is done.
How long will it last?
Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation procedures. This varies among individuals and is dependent on the specific shade used in the procedure as well as how much sun exposure does the area get. Using Retinal, getting chemical peels will also contribute to faster fading. Most colors last 3 to 5 years than a touch-up recommended to freshen up and maintain the desired look. You may also choose to change colors of your permanent makeup.
