What kind of ink do we use?

What kind of ink do we use? Tina Davies and Permablend Pigments are high-quality line of Permanent Makeup pigments. The ingredients are a combination of powdered pigments, glycerine, witch hazel, aqua, rosin, benzyl alcohol, and isopropyl alcohol. It is gamma-ray sterilized, vegan and cruelty-free.

What is permanent make up?

It is the micro-implantation of colouring pigments into the skin for aesthetic purposes; to enhance, contour and outline facial features. It is also a valuable procedure for camouflaging scars, burns, skin pigmentation variances caused by vitiligo, correcting some facial irregularities, or to further enhance facial rejuvenation and post-operative treatments.

Is it safe?

At Soul Escape the procedures are only performed under sterile conditions. Only disposable needles are used. There are no long-term side effects; short-term effects may include some redness, swelling, and tenderness. There are no known allergic reactions to pigments, however, allergy tests will be performed on clients before treatment by injecting a small amount of pigment into the skin.

Is it painful?

Medications may affect numbing. We numb area for 30 minutes prior to the procedure. Topical anesthetics are continually applied which significantly reduces pain. Typically, patients will report little or no discomfort during or after a procedure has been performed. Most of my clients sleep during brow procedures, eyeliners tickle due to the vibration of the machine on the eyelid, will feel tender for 24 hours after, lips will swell, feel tender more than brows or eyelids and it requires few days of "downtime".

How long does it take to have it done?

The average time required for a procedure is about 2.5 hours.

What can I expect after the procedure?

Colour appears twice as dark right after procedure and during healing. Scabbing, skin peeling and lightening of the applied colour is normal. Depending on skin type, swelling, redness, tenderness can be expected  for 24 hours following the procedure. Cold compress helps to reduce any swelling around the eye area. The area must be kept clean and sealed to allow healing. No makeup should be applied for at least 7 days. Regular routines usually can be resumed immediately after the procedure. However, tanning, swimming or vigorous exercise should be avoided for a few days. Surface healing times is between 4 to 7 days.

Follow up procedure

We offer free follow-up for 12 months following the procedure. I recommend waiting a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks after the first treatment before coming in for the second follow up procedure. If any additional adjustments are desired, (colour, shape, detail) these will be made during your follow- up appointment. Colour will last longer when follow up procedure is done.

How long will it last?

Gradual fading can be expected for all micro-pigmentation procedures. This varies among individuals and is dependent on the specific shade used in the procedure as well as how much sun exposure the area gets. Using Retinol, getting chemical peels will also contribute to faster fading. Most colours last 3 to 5 years than a touch-up recommended to freshen up and maintain the desired look. You may also choose to change colours of your permanent makeup.

Choices of Eye brow procedures:

Solid or Powdered look: Gives a more defined look, perfect for oily or thick skin. Natural 3D Hair Strokes: Feathering is creating individual hair strokes, it is done with a machine. The result is a fuller brow, nicely shaped, natural, great for someone looking to add density, fullness, correcting shape, length. Depending on aftercare lasting up to 7 years, than a touch up can be done to refresh the colour. The combination of the two works great when correction needed,(for symmetry, colour, shape, previously been tattooed, has scar), or for someone who lost most of the hair but wish to recreate it.
